The 'Painted Lady' variety is an exceptionally attractive and unusual tomato variety with ornamental leaves and striped fruit. A distinctive feature of these plants is their potato-like leaves with prominent white spots, which gives them a very decorative appearance. These spots are particularly prominent on younger plants and fade as the plants mature. The fruits are small, weighing between 60 and 90 grams, and are often heart-shaped or resemble plums. They have a beautiful red color with intense golden stripes, creating a zebra-like effect.
The plant is tall, reaching up to 1.8 m, and requires staking. The fruit ripens approximately 74–80 days after transplanting, and its fleshy pulp is tasty, though the fruit may be prone to cracking in humid conditions. Due to its unique visual characteristics and tasty fruit, “Painted Lady” is a variety that is sure to appeal to gardeners looking for something special.

Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms selected a plant with unusual, variegated potato-like leaves from among approximately 200 plants of a variety he received from Dean Slater. Painted Lady allows you to admire the variety of tomatoes even before the first harvest—both the leaves and the fruit are ornamental.
