Striped Roman
is a unique heirloom tomato variety that stands out not only for its appearance but also for its versatility in the kitchen. The fruits are long, measuring 10 to 12 cm, with a distinctive red skin striped with yellow, giving them a striking appearance. This variety has fleshy pulp, few seeds, and minimal juice, making it an ideal choice for making sauces, spreads, and preserves. At the same time, thanks to its sweet and rich flavor, Striped Roman
is also perfect for eating raw, such as in salads or salsas.
The plant is very productive and requires support, as it grows up to 180 cm tall. The fruits ripen approximately 75–80 days after transplanting, and the variety itself is resistant to fruit cracking and tolerates various weather conditions well. It’s the perfect variety for gardeners looking for beautiful, tasty, and versatile tomatoes.

In terms of versatility and its flame-patterned skin, it’s worth comparing it to “Speckled Roman.” Both varieties have elongated, meaty fruits suitable for sauces and for serving fresh.
