Several different varieties already produce pear-shaped fruit (e.g., Japanese Black Trifele, Aladdin's Lamp, or Cherokee Green Pear). The berries are not very large, weighing up to 150 grams; they are pouch-shaped, juicy, and noticeably tart. They produce a consistent crop throughout the season and ripen after about 80 days.
