The fruit has a distinct heart shape, is very fleshy, and is red when cut open. The skin features distinct darker stripes running from the stem to the blossom end. It looks and tastes truly outstanding! Fruit sizes vary within a single cluster; the largest do not exceed 300 grams and ripen about 70 days after transplanting. The plant is tall with regular-type leaves.
This variety was developed by Brad Gates of California. It combines the fleshy cross-section characteristic of heart-shaped tomatoes with a striped skin—two features that can be admired on the same fruit.
