Sweet Aperitif is an English variety bred by Mark Rowland of Gourmet Genetics. We appreciate it for its exceptional sweetness: in this regard, it reminds us of the “Green Tiger.” It’s a tomato that’s hard to carry from the garden to the kitchen without snacking on it along the way.
The small, deep-red fruits—which weigh up to about 10 g in our garden—grow in large clusters. The plants grow vigorously and tall, requiring staking. In our garden, the fruits ripen about 80 days after planting the seedlings.
