This variety comes from Sebastopol in Sonoma County, California. The Occidental Arts & Ecology Center described it in its 2016 catalog as a tomato preserved by a local gardener for over 70 years. The fruits are small, about 2 cm in diameter, distinctly sweet with a slightly tart aftertaste. They are excellent as snacks and in salads. It thrives in more humid conditions and cooler climates. The plant is tall and sturdy.

Sebastopol took first place in a tomato tasting organized by the Skagit Master Gardeners in 2023.
