Very productive. The fruit is similar to that of the Roma variety, but firmer and juicier. Excellent for salads and preserves. The fruit is small, weighing no more than 100–150 grams, virtually blemish-free, with thin, damage-resistant skin.
This is a long-standing variety popular in Russian gardens, whose early origins collectors trace to Brazil. In addition to the red fruits, it’s worth checking out the ‘De Barao Brown,’ which has similar uses but a darker color.
