Dear Gardeners!

We wish you all the best in the coming year: good health, bountiful harvests, and peace of mind—with a special emphasis on that last one. First, some good news: despite the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and its officials at WIORiN, they still haven’t managed to destroy us. Our Family Farm is still operating, though it’s getting harder by the day. We don’t know how much longer we’ll be able to keep going, but we’re doing everything we possibly can to stay in business. Instead of focusing on growing our farm, we’re wasting hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of zlotys fighting the Ministry’s fabrications, which keep throwing obstacles in our path. Instead of investing in growth, we’re fighting for survival and the future of the entire traditional tomato variety industry. This isn’t how running a farm in Poland should be, but we have to play the hand we’ve been dealt.

I’d like to give you an overview of what’s currently happening with seeds at our first online meeting, which will take place this coming Sunday (January 15, 2023) at 4:00 p.m. Attendance is mandatory! :) To participate, you’ll need:

- a computer with speakers and a web browser

or

- any smartphone with YouTube

All you have to do is click on the link below on Sunday at 4:00 p.m., and that’s it! The presentation will take place on YouTube, and you’ll be able to ask questions in the chat during the session.


After the main part of the talk is over, I’ll answer all the questions asked. Topics to be covered during the session:

  1. The current situation on the market for seeds of traditional tomato varieties
  2. The stance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (support for corporations and the destruction of biodiversity)
  3. Why this issue affects everyone (not just gardeners)
  4. What solutions have other European Union countries adopted (why can others do it, but we cannot?)
  5. What are we doing to change this situation? (legal actions: petition, proposed legislation and regulations; educational activities: participation in conferences)
  6. Seedlings (what and when)
  7. First steps with seeds (growing your own seedlings)
  8. Invitation to the “Natural Seeds and More!” conference

The meeting will last approximately 60–70 minutes, plus time for questions (we’ll see how many there are). We warmly invite you to participate. Only together can we bring about change, and now we need you more than ever.
