Container Gardening
Also known as: growing in pots
Container gardening involves growing tomatoes in pots, boxes, or bags filled with potting mix. It is popular on balconies, patios, and in small gardens. Due to the limited volume of growing medium, this method requires more frequent watering and fertilizing than growing in the ground. Use the largest, most stable container possible with a clear drainage hole, and check the moisture level of the growing medium daily during hot weather.
