The
Dwarf Beryl Beauty
tomato variety originates from the Dwarf Tomato Project. Plants of this variety are dwarf, reaching a height of 100 to 120 cm, and are characterized by strong, thick stems and deep-green, potato-like leaves. The fruits are medium-sized, typically weighing between 85 and 140 grams, and their skin remains light green, gradually taking on a pinkish hue at the tip of the fruit on the side opposite the stem. The flesh is green, and the flavor is well-balanced, full-bodied, sweet, and juicy.
This variety is very prolific and productive, ideal for small gardens as well as for growing in pots. It ripens about 80 days after transplanting. Due to its versatility and excellent flavor, it is a popular choice among gardeners looking for unique tomato varieties with an unusual appearance and excellent culinary qualities.
Craig LeHoullier chose a name for it that refers to beryl, a mineral found in shades of green and pink, among others. It is a cross between “Golden Dwarf Champion” and “Green Giant,” created by Patrina Nuske Small.
