Indigo Blue Pear is a variety developed by Ukrainian breeder Ruslan Dukhov. It combines a pear- and plum-like shape with dark shoulders, the color of which depends on the lighting. In our cultivation, the juicy fruits reach up to 150 g.
It originates from a cross between the blue P20 line and ‘Black Pear.’ Thus, a single fruit may display both dark pigmentation and the warm hues of ripening skin. Ripeness is best assessed by the softening and color change of the parts without dark pigmentation.
This strong, tall plant requires staking. The fruits ripen approximately 80 days after transplanting the seedlings.
