An interesting tomato variety with a high anthocyanin content. Where the fruit is exposed to sunlight, it turns a distinct black-purple color. The rest of the fruit is red-orange. The average weight of a ripe fruit is about 90 grams. The plant is tall and requires staking or tying up. The fruits reach maturity about 75 days after planting.
Alki Blue Blood is a variety developed by American breeder Tom Wagner. Its dark skin does not in itself indicate ripeness: also watch for a color change in the less sun-exposed part of the fruit and for it to soften.
