One of the most interesting varieties. It can surprise even the most experienced gardeners with both its flavor and its unique appearance. The fruits, up to 12 cm long, ripen about 85 days after transplanting. The skin of the ripe fruit is a deep green with yellow stripes resembling flames. This variety is very high-yielding. It is a determinate variety, and the plants grow to a height of about 150 cm.
The variety was bred by Tom Wagner under the name Green Sleeves. It was introduced to the market as “Green Sausage” by the Dutch company K. Sahin, Zaden B.V. in 1998. Both names are useful when searching for descriptions of this unusual, striped tomato.
